  1. 01

    3–5 days before

Simple diet — no tyramine, no stimulants

  2. 02

    Ceremony day

Light breakfast and lunch; fast from midday

  3. 03

    Night

Moderate water only; empty stomach for the medicine

01 · Priority

The critical part first

Ayahuasca contains MAO inhibitors. Combining it with certain medications or substances can be dangerous. If you have medical doubts, consult a licensed professional before participating.

01

Medications

No antidepressants (SSRIs), anxiolytics, sleeping pills, or antihistamines for at least 14 days beforehand, unless your physician expressly instructs otherwise.

02

Alcohol and drugs

Zero alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, or other unauthorized substances for at least one week beforehand.

03

Who cannot participate

Pregnancy or breastfeeding; severe cardiac conditions; uncontrolled hypertension; prior stroke; severe psychiatric disorders; incompatible medication (including MAOIs). The Company reserves the right of admission.

02 · The day

On ceremony day

The ceremony is usually at night. Digestion should be at rest: less food, more clarity.

    Morning

    Light breakfast

Oatmeal cooked in water only (no milk or sugar), boiled plantains/bananas, or chopped papaya.

    Midday

    Early lunch

A small portion of plain boiled white rice with steamed vegetables (squash, carrot), no salt or oil. Finish by 12:00 or 13:00 at the latest.

    Afternoon / night

    Full fast

No solids from midday onward. Only plain water in moderate amounts until a couple of hours before. An empty stomach reduces extreme nausea and supports absorption.

03 · The diet

What to avoid and what you may eat

For 3 to 5 days beforehand, keep food as simple, natural, and bland as possible. This is preparation — not aesthetic deprivation.

Window: 3 to 5 days before the ceremony

Eliminate completely

  • Aged cheeses, cured meats, smoked foods, canned goods, and soy (including soy sauce)
  • Red meat and pork
  • Salt, sugar, spicy food, garlic, and onion
  • Citrus: lemon, orange, grapefruit
  • Coffee, black or green tea, and energy drinks

Prefer

  • Rice, quinoa, potatoes, sweet potato, and oats
  • Plain grilled chicken or boiled eggs
  • Apple, pear, peach; leafy greens and carrot (steamed or raw, no dressing)
  • Olive or coconut oil only in minimal amounts

04 · Interior

Mental and energetic preparation

Traditional recommendations. They are not state health mandates; they are part of the container we hold.

01

Sexual abstinence

Avoid sexual activity (including masturbation) for 3 days before and 3 days after, to conserve vital energy.

02

Clear intention

Meditate or reflect on why you seek this medicine. Write your intention on paper.

03

Rest

Sleep well on the nights beforehand. The night process is physically exhausting.

05 · Frame
